Copyright and Plagiarisum
« on: June 14, 2015, 09:11:15 PM »
A) The proliferation of images and information on the Internet has created a legal minefield regarding copyright and plagiarism. Please note that if the forum is deemed to be in breach of copyright laws etc., it may be closed down. Therefore, the administrators/moderators are not being ?killjoys? when alerting members of certain pictures, etc. that cannot be posted - we are simply doing our best to uphold laws and safeguard the forum from legal action and/or closure.

B) Whilst there are a large number of pictures/screencaps etc. that can be posted without breaching any laws, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF ANY ADVICE from the administrators/moderators or other members REGARDING ANY COPYRIGHT ISSUES when ?snaffling? pictures - this can range from pictures not being permitted at all, pictures being used for personal use only or ensuring that appropriate credit is given when posting certain pictures. Some photographers expressly forbid their images to be reproduced without permission. Other images have water marks on them or the copyright symbol so should not be posted.

C) If you are unsure about posting a picture, especially a new picture that you may have come across, please contact one of the forum administrators/moderators for advice.

D) Posting of complete episodes or complete movies on sites such as YouTube or other video sharing sites is a violation of copyrights, and thus may not be discussed or linked to on this forum. You may neither mention nor post links to any torrent site on this forum. (A torrent site is a site which allows you to download full episodes of broadcast television or movies.) Nor may you mention nor post links to other file sharing/downloading sites which do not use torrent clients. Links to downloads on official TV company websites and other legal sources are of course allowed (e.g. BBC?s iPlayer, ABC Player, etc.). If you are unsure whether a viewing site is legal or illegal, please PM an administrator or moderator before posting a link.

F) If you use a quote or use another person?s pictures or information in a general post, poem, artwork or signature, you must credit the source.
